PORTLAND, OR, 28 June 2003 - A native of Louisiana, drummer Brady Blade has recorded and toured with some of the biggest names in music today. Most recently, Brady has enjoyed a very long and successful tour with Jewel in support of Jewel's second album, “Spirit.” The album debuted in November 1998 in the #3 spot on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum out-of-the-box. The collection has since been certified triple platinum by the RIAA.
Brady also has toured with Emmylou Harris and worked with the Indigo Girls. According to Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls regarding the making of their album Become You, "I didn't really want drums on it," Ray explains. "But Brady (Blade, our touring bandmate) is such a great drummer that he can keep it down to that roots level. I thought it would be a compromise, but in the end it wasn't a compromise at all. I love the way the band played rootsy." In a review of Become You in the Cincinnati Enquirer, “Much of the credit for that goes to stellar drummer, Brady Blade. A veteran of Emmylou Harris' great Spyboy band, Mr. Blade powered the music with subtlety, grace and an always surprising choice of beats. He made a great show even better.”
